Paddle8 and Artcaste took a closer look inside Eko Nugroho’s installation at Lombard-Freid Projects in this interview with the artist where he discusses making art in Indonesia post Suharto’s presidency and his hallmark embroideries. Eko’s work interfaces between high art and street and popular culture, traversing the local Indonesian and international art stage, moving in and out of gallery and museum interiors and exteriors, as well as public sites in urban and rural spaces around the globe.
Eko’s first monograph titled EKO(SPACE)NUGROHO was recently released in Jakarta by RogueArt.
